FAM Music Collective

Future Artistic Minds provides professional music facilities and mentorship for young people in our community. Since the inception of FAM, music has been an integral part of the collective. Over the years, producer and sound engineer, Muskwa Lerat has worked with a core group of musicians who bring a dynamic array of musical styles to Treaty 6. We’ve had emcees, singer/songwriters and spoken word poets in FAM Studios. Outside of this core group, the recording studio has been open to drop-in sessions for anyone who is interested in exploring music. Our little 10x12 studio has become a haven for all types of people to sit around, write, tell stories and spend time together with found fam(ily).

FAM’s first EP was titled “Many Moods of Hip-Hop”, which aired on local radio and was released at our first professional art exhibition in May of 2021 at Bridges Art Movement in downtown Saskatoon.

Many Moods of Hip-Hop is Coby Bird, Jarrod Masuskapoe, Draven Squirrel, JC O’Donnell, Essa Bear, Jay Mateo & Tyger Strongquill.

Currently FAM musicians - new and old - are working on solo EP’s and singles, collabing with each other and maintaining the studio grind to keep putting out tracks.
