NUIT BLANCHE EVE 2022

NUIT BLANCHE EVE 2022

FAM artists hosted a zine workshop during Nuit Blanche Eve on September 23rd, 2022 at The Avenue Room. As zines were created, we scanned them to share here.

You can download the zines using the gallery below by clicking on individual zines to save as a JPG file.

What is a zine?

Zines (pronounced “zeen”) are self-published mini magazines. Zines were used as a form of counterculture in the 70’s through the punk scene due to their accessibility and political nature. They can be a form of social justice and advocacy. Today, there are no rules for making a zine; it can be about anything you are interested in. Our zines can look like comics, illustrations, short poems or stories, collages, photography, sketches, how-tos, etc.

FAM invited folks to come learn how to turn a single piece of paper into a self-published piece of art during Nuit Blanche Eve, led by both artist mentors and emerging artists: Jody Lerat, Alana Moore, Noah Roy, Brooklyn Carriere, Ailah Carpenter, Alea Pambrun-Head & Dom Little.

Zines are accessible works of art. You can download & print the zines made at Nuit Blanche below.
